  • Experiencing pain during active movements or merely in a task as simple as walking. 
  • Pain in particular areas around the knee when subjected to pressure 
  • Weakness and feeling instability 
  • Popping noises in the knee joints 
  • Being unable to straighten the knee or move it fully flexibly


Some of the basic treatments you can perform at your home for knee pain are reducing movements and applying a cold or hot compress. Moreover, some physical exercises may help reduce the pain, such as raising the tip of the legs high. If you are sitting, lift your legs onto another chair. While lying or sleeping, keep your legs at a heightened position created by pillows as this promotes blood flow and provides relief from the pain.

However, if the pain is persistent over a week and does not reduce with basic treatments, visit a doctor for a check-up.
