Continuously Variable Transmission
Two cones at each pulley in this transmission system are connected by a chain belt, and the cones can move to change the belt’s diameter and hence the gear ratio. Due to this capability, the transmission may instantly switch between an endless number of gear ratios depending on the needs of the vehicle. The key benefit of this transmission is its ability to keep engine RPMs consistent even while the vehicle is moving at various speeds.
The Tiptronic transmission is an automatic transmission with a manual mode for changing gears. This means that the driver has the option to change the gears manually when necessary. The gear lever for Tiptronic-equipped vehicles is located behind the control wheel.
In several vehicles, the Tiptronic option appears differently. For an upshift, you must push the lever forward, and for a downshift, you must pull the lever back. The driver cannot eliminate any gears from their sequence when using Tiptronic, since gear shifts must be made in the exact order of the gears.
